The role:

The role will facilitate implementation of world class asset management practices with the view to increase maturity and performance and advising the Section Engineers and the Engineering Manager on the Health of the Asset Register and associated risks to cost and performance.

 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develop and manage the Asset Management improvement programs for the site
  • Identify and manage equipment reliability risks that could adversely affect business performance
  • Implement core Asset Management processes such as Maintenance Tactics, Work Management and Defect Elimination
  • Cultivate a reliability and continuous improvement culture at the operation
  • Develop effective maintenance plans for equipment using RCM principles
  • Effectively manage and oversee condition monitoring, ensuring that standards and procedures are adhered to, as well as best practices are being implemented
  • Manage and oversee the Engineering Planning Department in order to ensure accurate planning and scheduling of all maintenance on equipment, ensuring that maintenance is being performed and the relevant information captured accurately
  • Manage and oversee the Technical Expediting function and the Subassembly Store
  • Financial Budgeting & Management
  • Manage equipment and maintenance performance reporting

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maintenance/reliability function
  • In depth experience in maintenance of OC/UG machinery/processing plants
  • Experience in condition monitoring
  • Proven technical and maintenance planning management experience
  • Be able to design and implement sustainable systems
  • Sound knowledge of Mining Engineering Codes of practices, policies, and procedures
  • Sound people management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

 

Advantageous:

  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC)
  • A good knowledge of machinery and equipment used on the relevant operation
