The role:

To ensure legal compliance with explosive controls and logistics.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure materials management of explosive accessories and products and proper accounting
  • Maintain effective communication and accurate record keeping in line with the Explosives Act
  • Ensure effective time management
  • Oversee daily management of the explosive magazine and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Manage a performance-driven environment with optimal resource utilization
  • Establish and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Manage and ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  • Maintain magazine housekeeping including access roads, yard, and key control
  • Submit and keep records of all legal documentation annually for the chief inspector of explosives
  • Ensure compliance with the Explosives Act and Regulations

 

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics or Math Literacy, English
  • Blasting Assistant certificate / Competent A certificate / Magazine Master certificate
  • Minimum 2 years appointed as a Blasting Attendant
  • Experience as a Magazine Master
  • Registered with Chief inspector of Explosives as Magazine Master
  • Knowledge of the Explosives Act, inventory management and health and safety regulations
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Valid driver’s license
  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
